About GetQR

GetQR was created with a simple mission: to provide a completely free, privacy-respecting QR code generator that anyone can use without barriers. We believe that creating QR codes should be easy, fast, and accessible to everyone — from small business owners to students, from event organizers to everyday users.

Too many QR code generators require registration, limit features behind paywalls, or track the data you encode. We do none of that. GetQR is free to use with all features available, requires no sign-up, and processes everything locally in your browser. Your data never touches our servers.

Privacy is a core principle of GetQR. We designed our QR code generator to work entirely in your browser. When you enter a URL, WiFi password, or contact details, that data is processed locally on your device to generate the QR code image. Nothing is sent to our servers, stored in any database, or shared with third parties.

We don't require registration, we don't collect emails, and we don't use cookies to track what you encode. The only data we collect is anonymous analytics (page views and device types) to improve the service, and we display non-intrusive advertisements to keep the service free for everyone.

GetQR is built using Astro, a modern web framework optimized for performance and speed. Our QR code generation uses the qr-code-styling library, which supports advanced customization options including custom dot patterns, corner markers, logo overlays, and decorative frames.

The site is statically generated for fast load times, works on all modern browsers and devices, and supports both light and dark themes. We continuously improve the tool based on user feedback and emerging QR code standards.
